On the P3DO side I'm working hard on 1.7, preparing the 3D view. I'm still on first stages since I had a lot of post release work on 1.6.5. Now that I'm done with this I'm preparing 1.7 (not in 2003 I'm affraid).
I will soon release a bug fix for Awk and another one for Pattern Renamer.

September 5, 2003 - P3dO 1.6.5 soon available

P3dO 1.6.5 is nearly finished, beta tests will begin next week. The release itself should be available late september. P3dO 1.6.5 is an intermediary release between 1.6 and 1.7. It is 1.7 without the 3D stuff.

August 23, 2003 - Pattern Renamer has been updated

Newest feature is a loop option to replace all occurences of the same term in a file name - i.e replace all "ko" with "ok".
Download it now from the downloads section.

August 13, 2003 - P3dO 1.7 still on the rails

I'm now working on the image part of 1.7 (new zoom features and image print). I've still not finished the 3D engine and the lots of promised thingies. So there's still a lot of work on 1.7.
As I said in May I'm considering launching 1.6.5 as soon as the image stuff is done so that you can play with a newer P3dO while I finish 1.7. It will depend on the time taken to do the image stuff but I bet 1.6.5 will be available quite soon.
There will be a Pattern Renamer plugin update next week with a new option to repeat replacing of string severall times.

May 19, 2003 - P3dO 1.7 announced

It has been a pretty long time without any news, huh ? Sorry, I had hard time building the new P3dO look, nothing to show, nothing to say. Now, here are the first 1.7 screenshots.
P3dO 1.6.2 has been renamed to 1.7 because there has been massive changes since 1.6 and shouldn't be considered a simple evolution anymore.
In 1.7 appears docking windows so that you can customize the P3dO UI, the 3D OpenGL viewer for Poser, Quake and Renderware and a small Bryce plugin (with .BR4 and .BR5 thumbnail support).
In the close up section are some screenshots of 1.7, the UI is highly configurable, always the same P3dO.
As the 3D plugin is the longer to do and the rest is done there will probably be an intermediary release this summer (without the 3D view), but 1.7 is planned for september.

February 6, 2003 - Pattern Renamer updated

Some cumfort enhancements to Pat: Pat now remembers your settings and the wildcar filter doesn't need an "*" anymore.
Pattern Renamer 1.0 is available for download on the download page plugins section.

January 23, 2003 - "The Sim's" plugin is here

The new plugin "The Sim's" features the famous game files as thumbnails to help you manage your Sim's stuff graphicaly. See the face of Jennifer or Daniel instead of the classic windows icons.
This is just a beginning on SIM stuff, I promise. There's a lot to do on the subject for sure. As for the rest it depends on feedbacks.

Hot stuff next week is the Carrara plugin which I begin starting from now, release scheduled in about 2 weeks.
We're also working hard with Foleypro to find how to decode Bryce thumbnails. We've found lots of interesting things, so I can announce that P3dO 1.6.2 will offer improved support for Bryce .BR4 and .BR5 files.
On the P3dO side 1.6.2 is hot on the stove, with some goodies added : A Windows-like Open with menu, merge/dissociate Poser files, Large icon toolbars, more options,... and still a lot planned before the release.
